Next week, Aug 19, Josef conducts Norrköping Symphony Orchestra in an outdoor concert with singers Hannah Holgersson and Fredrik Lycke.
In September the collaboration with Hannah continues on tour with Jönköping Sinfonietta in Småland.

Josef once again takes on Leonard Bernsteins masterpiece West Side Story, he has signed on as MD and conductor for the show at NorrlandsOperan in Umeå, opening in March 2010. Director is Staffan Aspegren, choreography by Fredrik Rydman from Bounce.

Royal Philharmonic debut

Standing ovations after two sold out concerts at Malmö Arena. Josef proudly presented his project ”The Swedish Music Wonder” to an enthusiastic audience of more than 20 000, conducting Malmö Symphony Orchestra performing orchestral music by Alfvén and Benny Andersson, accompanying Erika Sunnegårdh singing Verdi and Puccini, Robyn singing her own songs, international guest stars from Korea, Spain and Russia singing songs from Mamma Mia! the musical and much more.
The concert was produced by Josef together with Eva Stocks and Esbjörn Mårtensson.

Josef will conduct Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra - the National Orchestra of Sweden - in two concerts 8-9 April. Soloist is the multitalented artist Maria Möller. Josef plays with Royal Philharmonics

A little more than a year after his debut with the Stockholm Royal Philharmonics, Josef was reinvited to conduct the orchestra. Now in a concert featuring soloist Maria Möller and music by Bizet, Shostakovich, Stenhammar, Saint-Saens as well as his own music from the soundtracks of Stenhuggaren and Olycksfågeln. The critically acclaimed production of Singin´ in the Rain has drawn full houses in Malmö. “To me this has been a pleasant reunion, with the extremely talented soloists Rennie Mirro and Karl Dyall, but also with the Malmö Opera and it´s beautifully sounding orchestra” Josef says. “We´ve also had the pleasure to work with an exceptionally good cast and ensemble. Fiddler on the roof

Shortly after the CD recording sessions in the beginning of August with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Josef returned to lead the orchestra in a concert featuring music by Sibelius, Mascagni, Alfvén and Grieg. “A memorable concert with wonderful music, I am so happy with how my relation with Gothenburg Symph is developing” Josef says.

The Falun production turned out
to be a tremendous success. After months of sold out houses and extra added shows Fiddler on the Roof has now reached the final curtain.
“This has been an unusually successful collaboration between two cultural institutions, amateur choirs and freelancers. I hope that this will be a curtain raiser for future, grand co-productions in Dalarna” says Josef, “I´m of course also very happy for my re-invitations to Dalasinfoniettan in the spring and fall of 2012.”

End of April 2013 there will be a grand opening of a new dolphin show at Kolmården, Sweden. The dolphinarium is being renovated and brand new technical equipment will be installed. For this occasion Josef has been asked to record music for the show with Norrköping Symphony Orchestra.
“I didn´t hesitate one second, it´s a wonderful project! The dolphins have been involved in the process of choosing music, and they clearly have good musical taste”, says Josef. In addition to the normal preparation for a production, which normally means studying scores, he felt the urge to meet the dolphins and their coaches before mounting the conductor´s rostrum.
“We had a great time, Vicky, the oldest dolphin and alpha female, sang for me as I conducted. I loved interacting with her. It was also important for me to get a sense and feel of how the coaches and the dolphins work together and what they need from us when it comes to music - tempo, sound and character.
The recording takes place in Norrköping Jan 23-26. The music will also be released on a CD.
